Henny Youngman

Henny Youngman (1906–1998) was an American comedian and violinist best known for his rapid-fire one-liners, particularly his famous catchphrase “Take my wife—please!” He was a master of the one-liner joke and was often referred to as the “King of the One-Liners.”

Henny Youngman’s career spanned several decades, and he became a well-known figure in the world of stand-up comedy. He was a regular performer in nightclubs and on television variety shows. His jokes were often simple, quick, and focused on everyday situations, making him a popular and enduring comedian.

While Henny Youngman was known for his humor, especially in the form of short, witty jokes, it’s worth noting that some of his material, including his catchphrase, has been criticized for being somewhat stereotypical. Despite this, he remains an influential figure in the history of American comedy.
